2022 Releases by East Asian Authors I’m Excited About

Hello everyone! This year is drawing to a close and I’m beginning to get more excited for the new releases coming out next year. I have a very Type A personality so I’ve been working on my 2022 spreadsheet since January 😂 I’m always looking to diversify my reading and I’m thrilled to see more and more POC authors with books coming out. Today I’ll be featuring 2022 new releases that are written by East Asian authors!

DAUGHTER OF THE MOON GODDESS (January 11)
A captivating debut fantasy inspired by the legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess, in which a young woman’s quest to free her mother pits her against the most powerful immortal in the realm.

 

 

THE GIRL WHO FELL BENEATH THE SEA (February 22)
A girl travels to the Spirit World to break a curse that threatens the lives of her people in this feminist YA retelling of the popular Korean legend “The Tale of Shim Cheong.”

This debut follows a Chinese American teenage girl, who, upon discovering that she can no longer afford tuition at her elite Beijing boarding school, teams up with her academic rival and monetizes her strange new invisibility powers by discovering and selling her wealthy classmates’ most scandalous secrets.
